A change in employment, almost spelled disaster
The Client
Richard is a structural engineer. The Limited Liability Partnership (LLP) business Richard was employed by, offered him the ability to become a member of the LLP which, after consultation, he decided was a good move.
The Challenge
Six months into becoming a member of the LLP, Richard decided to move home. When approaching his bank for a mortgage he was faced with a challenge, as he was no longer employed, nor had he submitted a self-assessment tax return being newly self-employed. Richard had no way of proving his income to them and therefore was declined a mortgage by his bank.
The Solution
By understanding Richard’s change in employment structure, we were able to secure him a mortgage offer with a high street bank, proving there was no change to his income from his employed status to his self-employed status, by way of bank statements and the contract he had signed as a member of the LLP. Richard was able to move into his new home and on with his life.
