The mortgage market is returning to pre-covid levels. Criteria has been relaxed once more and lenders that restricted variable income like bonuses are once again including them in their affordability assessments.

We have also seen an increase in clients looking to let-to-buy. A let-to-buy enables you to keep your existing home as an investment when purchasing a new home to live in. The competitive nature of the market could be a catalyst for this demand due to clients not wanting to enter into property chains, ultimately speeding up their ability to complete their purchase.

Let to buy certainly won’t be right for everyone so it is worth getting mortgage and tax advice prior to making any decisions.
