New Homes announcement

Last week, the Government announced a £1.3 billion investment into building new homes and vital infrastructure that they say will “help fuel an economic green recovery”.

Robert Jenrick, Housing Secretary, said: “This government is determined to level up all parts of the country and this funding will not only give a
a much-needed boost to our economic recovery, it will help build the good quality, affordable homes the country needs.”

Looking at the detail, the ‘Getting Building Fund’ will share the £900 million amongst over 300, ready to go, building projects across the UK. The investment
is expected to deliver 45,000 new homes and create 85,000 jobs.

In addition, the government has also confirmed a £360 million investment in Mayoral Combined Authority areas through its £400 million Brownfield Fund which aims to deliver a further 26,000 new homes while protecting greenfield sites.

This is a further welcomed move which we hope will help stimulate the economy.
